Grain Services

All operators are fully qualified and certificated in grain fumigation, offering a wide range of solutions to all grain problems.

As highly experienced grain storage advisors we are happy to provide information and help to the farmer about all aspects of storage and treatment of stored produce.

Pre-Harvest Treatment

We provide a pre harvest treatment to eradicate pests in the fabric of buildings.

Specialised equipment is used to reach even the highest roof areas.

All accessible surfaces are sprayed with chemicals chosen for their excellent residual lifespan, the effectiveness against both grain store beetle and mite. This service is usually carried out in the 6 to 8 weeks prior to harvest, June onwards. As this treatment is ‘wet’ it must be pointed out that whilst every effort is made to avoid spraying electrical systems, time must be allowed between treatment and the use of equipment for drying.

Pest identification

We are happy to inspect grain on a regular basis to sieve and spear for beetles, weevils and mite, we record temperatures and provide a written report for your records including advice and recommendations

With regular inspections it is often possible to avoid infestations entirely or treat the grain before the infestation damages the quality of the grain.

Fumigation

As well as grain we also specialise in the fumigation of all stored produce and offer a full service to warehouse storage problems.

Fumigation is a very specialised service. Our operators are fully qualified to fumigate grain in store and produce in freight containers. We are also able to fumigate small items in a self-contained chamber where a wet treatment may damage expensive fabrics or other materials.
